Mrs. Sutton was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Birmingham Southern University and The University of Alabama where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was a life-long Presbyterian and a Charter Member of Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, Memphis, TN. She was a member of The Junior League of Birmingham, as well as a member of The Goodwill Auxiliary in Memphis, Tn.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by two daughters, Carol LeGrand Sutton and Jane Barton Sutton; one brother-in-law, Herbert Spence Sutton, Jr.; two sisters-in-law, Rose Sutton and Eva Spence, and several cousins.
