Martha Jean Plummer, 79, of Clifty Drive died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mrs. Plummer worked at C.P. Electronics for 20 years and Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. for 14 years. She was a 1948 graduate of Columbus High School and later earned an associate's degree at Ivy Tech.
A member of First Christian Church, she was a longtime treasurer of Victory Workers Sunday school class. She enjoyed reading, working with flowers and participating in church activities.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Dan Wallace officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mrs. Plummer was born in Columbus April 15, 1929, the daughter of Harley and Helena Huntington Tirtle. She married Jefferson Plummer Sept. 2, 1950.
Survivors include sons, Wayne Plummer of Commiskey and Charles Plummer of Columbus; a brother, Roy (Rhonda) Tirtle of Ogilville; a sister-in-law, June Wagner of Brownsburg; nieces, Abby Tirtle of Columbus and Charlene (Terry) Smith of Brownsburg; and her extended family, patients and staff at the Dialysis Center at Columbus Regional Hospital for the past 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 23, 1992; and a brother, Charles Robert "Bud" Tirtle.
