Abner Alexander Rose, age 77, of Rogersville, passed away at his residence at 2 o'clock Monday morning.
The deceased was a member of the Rogersville Church of Christ and had lived in Lauderdale and Limestone counties for the past 45 years.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lillah Grisham Rose; five sons, Thomas O. Rose, Rogersville, Charles H. Rose, Spring Garden, Ala., James J. Rose, Florence, Neal W. Rose, Spring Garden, Hollis E. Rose, Jonesboro, La.; six daughters, Mrs. Jesse Oliver Barnett, Rogersville, Mrs. Clifton H. Carter, Trenton, Tenn., Mrs. Roy Arthur Harrison, Ardmore, Tenn., Mrs. John Riley Register, Sorrenot, Fla., Mrs. Emmett Eugene Rogers, Jonesboro, La., Mrs. Lonnie Walker, Fresno, Calif.; two brothers, W.R. Rose, Rogersville and J. T. Rose, Decatur; three sisters, Mrs. B. C. Ramsey, Rogersville, Mrs. G. W. Bates and Mrs. G. H. Davenport, both of Athens; 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Rogersville Church of Christ, with Benny Lee Fudge, of that church, officiating. Interment followed in the Athens Cemetery, Brown-Service of Florence directing.
