Martha "Marti" Menninger Nichols, 81, of Cheyenne died Nov. 14 in Cheyenne.
She was born Feb. 19, 1924, in Topeka, Kan., and had lived here since January 1952 with prior residence in Topeka.
Mrs. Nichols was a medical transcriptionist for Internal Medicine Group.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, XJWC (X Junior Women's Club) and United Medical Center Auxiliary. She made deliveries for Meals On Wheels and was honorary chair woman of Denim and Diamonds in 2000.
Mrs. Nichols is survived by her husband, William C. "Bill" Nichols of Cheyenne, whom she married June 24, 1944, in Topeka; two sons, Dr. William C. Nichols Jr. of Missoula, Mont., and Patric D. Nichols of Cheyenne; a daughter, Nancy Nichols Rauchfuss of Casper; a brother Dr. Robert G. Menninger of Topeka; a sister, Julia M. Gottesman of Sierra Madre, Calif.; a half-sister, Rose Mary Menninger of Topeka; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Karl A. Menninger and her mother, Grace G. Menninger.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert Garrard and the Rev. Robert Walkley officiating.
Cremation has taken place at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Friends may contribute to United Medical Center Hospice, First Presbyterian Church or a charity of their choice.
