Harriett L. Harris, 96, of Hillsdale, Michigan, passed away August 19, 2008, at the Hillsdale Community Health Center. She was born November 6, 1911 in Lowell, Michigan to Charles & Eliza (Lee) Billinger. She was married May 29, 1933 to Jesse Harris and he preceded her in death in 1986.

Harriett was a member of the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church. She served as a minister's wife from her marriage in 1933 until her health failed 35 years later. Her greatest joy came from her role as a wife and mother.

Survivors included a son, Richard (Christina) Harris, Richmond, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Ann Harris, St. Louis, Missouri; three grandchildren, Dr. Mary Harris, Charles & Michael Harris; two great-grandchildren, Alexander & Gabriel Harris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Charles and B. Clare, a sister and two brothers.

Memorial services: Hillsdale Free Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Porter officiating.
