Samuel m. 1) Dec. 14, 1664 at Barnstable, Mary Goodspeed, dau. of Roger Goodspeed and Alice Layton, bapt. Sept. 12, 1647 at Barnstable. She d. Dec. 20, 1666 at Barnstable following the birth of her only child, son Benjamin Hinckley, on Dec. 6, 1666.
Samuel m. 2) Mary Fitzrandolph, dau. of Edward Fitzrandolph and Elizabeth Blossom, bapt. June 2, 1650 at Barnstable. She d. Jan. 4, 1737/8 at Barnstable at 87 years of age, and Aetatis 88. They had seven children: Samuel who died in infancy, Joseph, Isaac, Mary who died in infancy, Mercy, Ebenezer and Thomas.
Samuel Hinckley, Jr. was the second youngest brother of first born sibling Thomas Hinckley, the last Governor of the Plymouth Colony before the Plymouth and Massachusetts Bay colonies merged in 1693.
