Major League Baseball Player, Manager. He was a catcher making his debut for the Boston Beaneaters on May 15, 1901. For fourteen seasons, he played with the Boston Beaneaters (1901-05), Chicago Cubs (1906-09), Philadelphia Phillies (1910-14) and was a member of the Chicago Cubs 1907 World Series Championship team. He ended his playing career with a record of 198 runs scored, 618 hits, 18 home runs, 262 runs batted in and a .235 average. He was a major league manager for nine seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies (1915-18) and Cincinnati (1919-23). Moran won 748 games, lost 586 and led the Cincinnati Reds to 1919 World Series Championship. He died as a result of Bright's Disease in 1924 at the age of 48.
