Professional Basketball Player. Born in Harvey, Illinois, he played at the center position for eleven seasons (1986 to 1997) in the National Basketball Association with the San Antonio Spurs, Portland Trail Blazers, Washington Bullets, Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Clippers. He was a member of the 1989-1990 and 1991-1992 Portland Trail Blazers teams that reached the NBA Finals. He appeared in 67 career post season games with a 11.7 points per game average and a 5.9 rebounds per game average. His other career highlights include two-time NBA All Star selection (1989, 1991) and was named the 1987-1988 NBA Most Improved Player. After playing collegiate basketball at Eastern Illinois University, Duckworth was chosen by the Spurs in the 2nd round of the 1986 NBA Draft and appeared in 684 career regular season games, scoring 8,085 points with 3,945 rebounds.
