Walter S. Fox Jr., 85, of Griffa Avenue, died Friday, February 8, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Fox retired from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation in 1980 as the supervisor of Maintenance and Grounds, where he had worked for 20 years. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, NASCAR, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Lane Loman officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Victory Junction Gang Camp for Terminally Ill Children or Riley Hospital for Children.

Walter was born in Marion County on October 28, 1922, the son of Walter S. Fox Sr. and Margaret E. Williams Fox. He married Dorothy L. Sheaffer on December 4, 1947.
Survivors include his daughter, Edith (Todd) Correll of Columbus, and grandchildren, Michael (Kelly) Baker and Grant and Elizabeth Correll, all of Columbus.
Mr. Fox was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on March 4, 1999; brothers, Elbridge, Fenton and Fred Fox; and a sister, Harriet Deerburg.
