The husband of Celia Louise (James) Bush; the cousin of another Darius H. Bush of Elk Creek Twp., Erie Co., Pennsylvania. His father was John E. Bush, who reputedly had a relationship with a Native American woman back in New York, resulting in the birth of Darius. This does not seem to be supported by DNA evidence taken from some of his descendants- however there has been lack of inclusion of Native American data in DNA test sites.

D. H. Bush

Darius Harrison Bush was born at Somerset, N.Y., January 17th, 1827, and died in Hampden, Columbia County May 17, 1907, of catarrhal pneumonia, after an illness of but a few days. Deceased came to Wisconsin from Erie county, Penn., In 1849, and with the exception of four years in Penn. and eleven years in Iowa had resided here ever since.
He was married to Celia L. James of Pennsylvania in 1854. Four children were born of this union, three of whom, two sons and one daughter survive with his widow to mourn his loss.
The funeral services were held at the home on Sunday, May 19th at 2 P.M. conducted by Rev. Jno. A. Collinge in the presence of a very large company of friends and neighbors. Interment followed at the Hampden cemetery.
In the passing of Mr. Bush, a good man, loyal to conviction, true to neighbor, friend and family, has gone from our midst. The sympathy of a large circle of friends and neighbors is with Mrs. Bush and family in their hour of need.
