Oliver P. "Al" Carabotta was born on Saturday; December 19, 1925 in East Cleveland; Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He was the son of: Viola and Leone Carabotta. "Al" served in the Armed Forces during World War II. He married Helen Rita Sabol on Saturday; June 11, 1960 in Cleveland; Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Oliver, who preferred to be
called "Al", and Helen shared 48 years of marriage. They loved to travel and one of their favorite places was Albia; Monroe County, Iowa where they created loving memories visiting Helen's cousins the Pasut, Shovlain and Vitko families. A highlight of his visit was to reserve "squatter's rights" in front of the Vitko Service Station watching the world go by. He learned to love Albia as much as Helen does. He had an ingratiating smile that will be long remembered. Oliver P. "Al" Carabotta, age 82, passed away on Saturday; July 5, 2008 in Tuscon, Arizona. His three sisters: Nancy Grida, Stella Carabotta and Ida Hitte all of Cleveland, Ohio. His many nieces and nephews have always shared a big piece of his heart.
