Amasa Kellam born 12/7/1801 and died June 8/1839, is listed in the Kellam Family Bible information recorded in "Historical and Genealogical Collections of Dooly County Georgia Vol. III", pp 206-208. This volume quotes the History of Laurens County, GA by Wilhelmina Blackshere Kellam (Mrs. S. M. Kellam) and records that "The Kellam Family is of English descent, first settling in this country in Virginia. Later Some of the family emigrated to the state of Georgia settling in Laurens County. Some later came to Dooly County."
Amasa is recorded a marrying Mary B. Taylor on Jan 4, 1825. This volume also lists him as the son of Seth and Susannah Kellam. Nine children are listed with limited information and no records on burials.
