He taught in rural sschools for five years, then worked for the Lincolyn Paint Co. He was in the wholesale and retail doughnut business before becoming a state and county auditor for the state of Nebraska. He later became a cost auditor for Bowing Motor Company before retiring. He played on two college and one state baseball teams, and played golf until the last couple of years. He had attended the Seventh Day Advenyure Church and was a Marceline resident for 18 years coming from Nebraska.
He is survived by by his son, Larry of Marceline, and a sister Genevieve Johnson, Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and his daughter in law Alice Bradley.
Pallbearers were Jay and John Bradley, Rusty Bayh, Morgan Thomas, Bill Marlin and Pat Bowden.
