Probate Office Jany 6th 1840.
This day came Joshua Dunnegan and suggested Elizabeth Ann Dunnegan minor under the age of fourteen years had some property coming to her from the estate of Isaiah Dunnegan her father dec'd And that she has no Guardian appointed for her according to Law.
Ordered that proof of the same be now taken.
Thereupon said Joshua made oath that Elizabeth Ann Dunnegan minor heir of said Isaiah Dunnegan dec'd had some property coming to hear from her father's estate and that she has no Guardian appointed for her.
Ordered that proof of the value of said property be now taken.
Thereupon said Joshua made oath that the value of the property coming to said minor does not exceed the sum of Three hundred and fifty dollars, to the best of his knowledge and belief.
(Page 267) Ordered that said Affidavit be placed on file.
thereupon Thomas G. Lofton then prayed that letters of Guardianship of the person and property of said Minor might be granted to him.
Ordered accordingly upon his entering into Bond with security according to law.
Ordered that the penal sum in said bond be seven hundred dollars.
Thereupon said Thomas G. presented a bond in the penal sum above ordered with William Gillham as his security conditioned as the law directs which was approved and ordered to be placed on file.
Ordered that letters now be issued to the said Thomas G. as above prayed for.
