She was born May 13, 1913, in rural Bluff Springs. She married Everett William Launer in Taylorville in 1933; he preceded her in death in 1970.
Surviving is her daughter, Rita (husband, John) Mitchell of Rochester and a granddaughter, Corey Launer of Beardstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter Linda; two sons, Roger and Cleon (surviving wife, Mary Alice Launer of rural Virginia); and two grandchildren, Carol Sue and Cleon Everett Jr. Launer.
Mrs. Launer was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Bluff Springs. Being a very determined and independent woman, she placed great value in taking care of her family and her home. She truly was a lover of nature and enjoyed attending to her garden, watching over her household pets and appreciating the outdoors.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, at Beardstown City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown.
Memorials have been suggested to Pound Dog Rescue in Virginia.
