Abbot Jerome Ferdinand Weber OSB., was born in Muenster, Saskatchewan, Canada, on September 14, 1915, and was ordained to the priesthood at the age of 25, on June 8, 1941, as a professed monk of the Order of Saint Benedict of Norcia, by Msgr. Joseph Busch, Bishop of St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Member of the Territorial Abbey of St. Peter-Muenster of Saskatchewan, Dom Jerome joined the staff of St. Peter's College as prefect, teacher, director of athletics, and coach of the athletic teams. He earned a master's degree in history at the University of Saskatchewan in 1948, and became prior of the Abbey in December 1958. He was appointed as its Fourth Abbot on April 6, 1960, aged 44, following the demise of Dom Severinus Giacomo Gertken, and was confirmed in the latter position on the following June 28.

Abbot Weber held his office for thirty years, until his retirement at the age of 74, on June 15, 1990, being succeeded by Dom Peter Wilfred Novecosky. After his retirement, he served as chaplain at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Humboldt.

Dom Jerome Weber died in his sleep at St. Peter's Abbey on Thursday, September 4, 2008. He would have been 93 years old on September 14. The prayer service for the former Abbot was held on Sunday, September 7, 2008, at 7.30 pm., officiated by Dom Werner Renneberg, OSB., and the funeral Mass was offered on the following Monday, September 8, 2008, at 10.30 am, celebrated by Abbot Peter Novecosky OSB., Both services were held at St. Peter's Cathedral, Muenster. Interment followed at St. Peter's Abbey Cemetery, Muenster.
