He was the son of Ethan Lemon Arver and Laura L Anderson. In 1930 he is with his parents and a brother in Sturgis, St Joseph, Michigan, where his father was employed as a city police officer. Elvin served our country from 28 Dec 1942 to 26 Dec 1945 during WWII and from 24 Aug 1948 to 16 Jul 1952, covering the Korea Conflict. On 10 Dec 1943, he married Jean Marie Mohney.

In 1960 he and wife Jean are listed in the El Paso, TX, City Directory, residing on Mustang Avenue and he was employed as a Foreman at the [El Paso] International Airport. He was the father of Marilyn, Karen, Bruce and Bobby.

Father Ethan died in Cook Co, IL, on 25 Jan 1943. His mother Laura died in El Paso, TX, in Sep 1983. His brother Charles is buried in Sturgis, MI (Find A Grave Memorial# 167766914).
