Shirley Ann Sharpe Reid
Statesville, N.C. - Shirley Ann Sharpe Reid, 72, of 2106 Joe Road, Statesville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at her home.
Shirley was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Iredell County and was the daughter of the late James and Ethel Sharpe.
She attended Iredell County Schools and was a graduate of Celeste Henkel School. She worked for the Catawba Hosiery Mill, Woolworth's, Holiday Inn and Sub Express.
In May 1967, she married Robert (Bob) Anderson Reid, who preceded her in death in 1991.

She also was preceded in death by her brothers, J.D. Sharpe, Jack Sharpe, Hoyte Sharpe and Frank Sharpe, and a sister, Geneva Beam.
She is survived by her four loving children, Laura Ann Isenhour (Tony), James "Bradley" Cornelius, Cindy Nell Reid and Robert Anderson "Andy" Reid Jr. (Laura); four grandchildren, Christopher Owens, Kimberly Owens, Hunter Reid and Mallory Reid; a great-granddaughter, Katie Gilbert; two sisters, Rena Sharpe Spence (Lewis) and Pat Sharpe Yoder; a brother, Jerry Sharpe (Ann); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service celebrating Shirley's life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Bethel United Methodist Church. The body will be placed at the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral hour.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight, Thursday, at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the residence.
