Raised in a theatrical family (she was the daughter of actress Sheila Gish), she originally studied art, and took a BA Honours degree from Chamberwell School of Art. For a time she considered journalism as a career, and even won a prize for an article in "Harpers". However, by the mid-1990s, she was following the family profession; her television debut was in "Game On" in 1996. Over the next decade she had re-occuring roles in a number of series, including "Coupling" in 2001 and 2002, "East Enders", "Doctors", and "Wire in the Blood". Her final television credit was for "New Tricks" in 2005. On the stage, she had several successes: "Look Back in Anger" at the Bristol Old Vic in 2001, the title role in "The Duchess of Malfi" at the Salisbury Playhouse in 2002, and appearances as Goneril in "King Lear" at the Chichester Festival in 2005. Her final performances were as Pinochet's attorney in "Tejas Verdes" at the Gate Theatre in London. During her theatrical career, she continued to paint, and had at least one gallery exhibition of her work. She died after a seven year battle with cancer. Her birth year is sometimes given as 1970, but most sources list 1967.
