Laurel left this world way too early. She was born September 11, 1961, the last of 5 daughters and one son to John and Arba Duncan in Bellevue, Washington. She was still young when the family moved to Santa Clara, California where she became a family legend. Her mother had just put her down for a nap and asked a neighbor to frequently check in on her while she ran a quick errand. When the neighbor had checked in on her Laurel was no where to be found. Laurel had woken up as her mother left. She decided to go for a walk and somehow made her way across the busy Alemeda de los Pulgus to a Catholic church.

Now to understand this story you must also know that Laurel came from a family that belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the LDS culture Laurel's mother was addressed as "Sister Duncan" by other members of the church.

Laurel sat down on the church steps where a nun found her. The nun asked Laurel if she knew her name. Laurel responded that her name was "Lolly Pop Duncan".

The nun then asked if she knew her mother's name to which Laurel responded "Sister Duncan".

Laurel was 7-8 years old when the family moved to Bountiful, Utah. She later graduated from Bountiful High School and then met and married Bruce Olson. Together they had 4 children; Christopher, Jessica, Duncan and Makinzie.

Laurel was killed in a 4 wheeling accident when the truck she was in rolled.
