The remains of Mrs. Eliza C. Taylor arrived yesterday morning from California and were taken direct to the Oak Ridge cemetery where the interment took place. The pall bearers were James Barclay, her grand son, Lex Starne, Paul L. Starne and John C. Lanphier, Jr.

Mrs. Taylor will be remembered by the older people of this community. Her maiden name was Eliza C. Bryan and she came of an old Kentucky family, and was born in that state in 1820. She married the late James Taylor and removed to Springfield in 1840, living here continuously until 1880, seven years after her husband's death, when she removed to Chicago. A few years later she went to California. Her death occurred at Napa, Dec. 29, 1903.

She was the mother of six children. Mrs. H. T. Epler, James S. Taylor and Annie M. Taylor of California survive. The dead are Mrs. Mary Taylor Barclay, Mrs. Eliza B. Miller and John Taylor. She was the aunt of Mrs. Charles A. Starne and Miss Jennie E. Hurst of this city.
