PANHANDLE - Funeral services for Thelma Baker, 92, were at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Pekins, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Doug Harvey, pastor First Christian Church.

Burial was in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors of Panhandle.

Mrs. Baker died Thursday, May 21, 1992 in Olsen Manor Nursing Home in Amarillo.

She was born Jan. 23, 1900 in Wise County, Texas. She had been a resident of Panhandle since 1962.

She married Elmer Baker Feb. 8, 1919 at Hall County, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977; a son in 1940; and a grandson, Jimmy Lain in 1988.

Survivors include a son, Jack Baker of Hillsboro, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Ford Lain of Panhandle; a sister Nada Ammons of Midland; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
