Aged 55 Years, died from an accidental fall

Died at 4:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, August 12, 1916, at St.John's hospital, George Wicklin, aged 55 years and 10 months. Death resulted from complications followng an accident last Monday evening when decedent sustained a broken right hip in a fall at the Collins House, Seventh and Adams street, of which he was one of the proprietors. Decedent is survived by seven brothers, Charles E. of Macon, Ill.; William, Henry and Otto, of Evansville, Ill.; John of Texas, Fred of Macon, Ill., and Otto Wicklin, residing in California; and by two sisters, Mrs. Martha Wolff of Evansville, Ill., and Mrs. Barbara Tuchstrom of Greenville, Ill.

He had been a resident of Springfield for the past twenty-seven years, and for a number of years was engaged in the grocery business. For the past nine years he was with the Collins House, and at the time of death was a member of the firm of Smith and Wicklin, proprietors. He was a member of Prosperity camp No. 1418, M. W. of A.

The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at McCabe and company. Burial will be in Oak Ridge cemetery.
