Mr. Bennett was born in Athens, IL, June 11, 1883. He had been a resident of this city for the past fifteen years, being employed at the Sangamo Meter company's plant during that time. He was a member of Company C, Fifty infantry, I. N. G., serving several years as quartermaster of the gatling gun section of the company.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna Bennett and three brothers, Walter E. Bennett of El Reno, Okla., Jarvis C. and Paul Bennett of this city, and two sisters, Misses Reta and Catherine Bennett, both of this city.
