Son of Clark Moulton and Ann Todd Smith. (Ann was Mary Todd Lincoln's youngest sister.) Son of Mr/Mrs C. M. Smith. When a young man, member of Governor's Guards. Prominent business man, long associated with his father in the shoe business and then went into partnership with B. H. Luers to form Smith & Luers in 1886. Married Nellie Muir in Louisville, KY, on July 9, 1890. Universally liked and respected.

Survived by his wife, brother Edward Smith, sisters Mrs. G. W. Ilett and Mrs. E. F. Johnson.
