Actor, Comedian. He was an American comedian, who was considered the king of the blaxploitation motion picture industry and "underground entertainment" for his rude, crude and vulgar brand of comedy. He was best-known for his vulgar-mouthed pimp character "Dolemite" in the 1975 blaxploitation motion picture of the same name. Moore kept his character name as his moniker throughout his career. His 18-film career also included Dolemite-sequel "The Human Tornado," "Petey Wheatstraw," "Penitentiary II" and "Monkey Hustle." He also released 30 underground comedy recordings, include "Cockpit," "The Streaker" and "Sweet Peeter Jeeter." Later in his career, Moore gained another title with a new generation of fans as "The Godfather of Rap," having recorded with and influenced may major Rap artists such as Big Daddy Kane, Snoop Doggy Dog, Blowfly and Daniel Jordon. He appeared during this period in movies "B.A.P.S," "Big Money Hustlas;" BET's "Sombodies." His last recording was with his daughter Yvette "Rusty" Wesson entitled "Let Me Sing to You Before I Drift Away." Rudy Ray Moore died from complications of diabetes.
