Mrs. Albers, 90, of Red Wing, died Sunday (Oct. 19, 2008) at the Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.
Joan Louise VonBargen was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Belvidere Mills, Goodhue County, and attended schools in Belvidere. On June 26, 1941, she married Norman Albers. She worked for Red Wing Pottery, LaGrange Shoe Co., and Red Wing Advertising, and then many years at Jostens, from which she retired. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three children, Janice (Neil) Swartz of Fayetteville, Ark., Gary (Jane) and Sherry (Bill) Stechmann, both of Red Wing; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and a sister.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel in Red Wing, and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
Memorials are preferred to the church.
