Catherine Patt Meurer was the daughter of Philip Patt and Mary Lenig, both born in Germany.

She married Martin Meurer, and was the mother of known children; John, Peter, Henry and Sr. Pudentiana Meurer. The 1900 census states that Catherine was the mother of 6 children, 5 of whom were living.

Catherine immigrated with her husband Martin and son Henry on May 12, 1884, traveling from Amsterday on the ship Zaandam, landing at Castle Garden. She arrived almost a year after her son and daughter-in-law; Peter and Johanna Meurer. She was 58 years old.

Her husband Martin died between the date of his immigration in 1885 and 1900, when Catherine is listed in the City directory as a widow. His grave was located in Immaculate Cemetery in Phelps County, MO. They had been living in that county for a period during that time, so I am quite confident that is his grave. The stone is somewhat sunken; below the ground, the marker states "Erected by Anna Meurer." In 1900, Catherine lived with this same son and daughter-in-law, John and Anna Meurer, Dillon, Phelps, Missouri.
