Major League Baseball Player. He played at the second base position for six seasons (1941 to 1942, 1946, 1948 to 1950) with the Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox. He made his big league debut on April 15, 1941. Stringer enjoyed his most successful season that year when he appeared in 145 games with 126 hits, 31 doubles and 53 runs batted in. In 409 career games, he had 290 hits with a .242 lifetime batting average. His career was interrupted when he served in the United States Military during World War II.
