He was born Feb. 17, 1909, in Fountain County to Eston and Iona Robbins Alward. He married Sept. 13, 1929, at Kingman to Nadine Thomas. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Donald Alward of Kingman, Tom Alward of Frankfort, and Richard Lawson of Danville, Ill.; three brothers, Stanton of Kingman, Johnny Q. of Wallace, and Leston "Bus" of Attica; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Wednesday in Wolf Creek Community Church at Wallace with the Rev. Lester Niles officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery at Wallace. Friends may call from 4-8 pm Tuesday at Cramer-Shoemaker Funeral Home of Waynetown."
