Rev. Ira Eddy was the son of Nathan and Rebecca (Safford) Eddy, Jr. Nancy (Brigden) Eddy was his 1st wife. They were married August 26, 1819. Nancy died November 17, 1862. Sarah "Sally" Carpenter (Grosvenor) Sanderson Eddy was his 2nd wife. They were married March 18, 1863. Sarah died April 12, 1866. Rev. Eddy was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Licensed to preach 1815; admitted on trial Ohio Conference 1817; full connection 1819; ordained Deacon by Bishop William M'Kendree 1819; ordained Elder by Bishop William M'Kendree 1821; Pittsburgh Conference at organization 1825; Erie Conference at organization 1836.
