Stanley Camfield Hack, Jr. was born on November 11, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois. His father; Stanley Camfield Hack, Sr. (1909-1979) was playing third base for the Chicago Cubs in 1934. His mother was Dorothy Alice Weisel (1910-1963), a well known and successful amateur tennis player. At one time during her career, she was ranked number three in the U.S. She was a two-time singles quarterfinalist (1930 and 1931) at the U.S. Open. Dorothy and Stan Hack, Sr. divorced and Stan Hack, Sr. later married Glennyce M. Graf. Our Stan has a half brother who is also named Stanley Camfield Hack, Jr. and is about twenty years younger than our Stan.

In 1956, Stan was enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley and was a member of the tennis team.

Before entering the United States Air Force, Stan was a tennis pro at a County Club in Sacramento, California where his mother was residing.

Stan entered the Air Force on Feb 10, 1957 as an Aviation Cadet in Navigator Training Class 58-08C. He first attended pre-flight at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas. After three months, he then went to Harlingen ABF, Texas for flight training. At Harlingen Stan flew training missions in the T-29C 'Flying Classroom'.

Stan was known to his classmates as "Spaz" for his ability to walk into a room and step on everyone's spit shined shoes within just a few minutes. However, on the tennis court he would play the doubles court and quickly dispatch any two opponents who were playing the singles court lines, and he looked very graceful while accomplishing the task.

Stan graduated with Class 58-08C on May 6, 1958 at which time he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and received his Navigator Wings.

Stan, along with the majority of our class, went to Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi for Electronic Counter Measures school. After graduation in December 1958, he was assigned to the 4677th Defense System Evaluation Squadron (DSES) flying the B-57B 'Canberra' at Hill Air Force Base, Ogden, Utah.

Stan married Annette Lavon Holz on May 26, 1961 at the Ogden Country Club in Ogden, Utah. Annette was born on January 20, 1940 in Emigration Canyon, Salt Lake County, Utah and died September 23, 2011. They had a son, Christen Camfield Hack, who was born on March 19th, 1962 in Ogden, Weber County, Utah.

Stan and Annette were divorced about 1963. Annette then married Wilbur Dorris Wright. Wilbur was a Captain in the USAF and was killed in a B-52 crash at Castle AFB on October 8, 1969.

Stan later married Dorothy Elaine Fesperman. He then adopted Dorothy's daughter, Marjorie Denise, who was born on July 3, 1959 in Harlingen, Cameron County, Texas. They later adopted at birth, a son, Eric S. Hack, in August 1968 in San Francisco, California.

Stan was an accomplished tennis player and won the Air Force singles tennis championship many times including the World Wide Air Force open singles crown at Dayton, Ohio in August 1958. In his later years, he teamed with Gary Farmer and they won the Air Force doubles championship a number of years.

In 1961, Stan graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska.

In the spring of 1966, Stan attended Class 66-A Squadron Officer's School at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama. While there, he donated one of his tennis racquets to be placed in the retired trophy case at SOS.

In June 1967, Stan was assigned to Nakhon Phanom Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thailand. He then returned to the 4677th RDSES at Hill AFB. In August 1972, the 4677th DSES relocated to Malmstrom Air Force Base at Great Falls, Montana. In 1974 the 4677th DSES upgraded to the EB-57E.

Stan retired as a Major in 1979 and moved to San Diego, California. He later resided in the Houston, Texas area.

Stan passed away after getting pneumonia following surgery for a brain tumor.
