Rev. George John Porter was the son of John Ellery and Sarah Cordelia (Kemp) Porter. He was the husband of Gertrude (Witherell) Porter. They were married January 1, 1896. Gertrude died August 24, 1920. Rev. Porter was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church/The Methodist Church: Michigan Conference 1894 F 1902 Genesee (now Western New York) Conference by transfer 1908.
