Joseph Scalone was the 7th child born to Armenio Scalone & Carmela(Del Aquila)Scalone . He was the twin brother of Teresa Scalone. Raised in Corona Queens, he served in the U.S. Army from December 8, 1936 until August 8, 1945 in Company C, 165th Infantry earning the Purple Heart during World War II in the Pacific theater. Joseph saw action at Saipan, Tarawa and Okinawa. After the war he married and worked for the U.S. National Geodetic Service until his retirement. He and his wife Terry, raised 2 children Carrie and Joseph Patrick. He resided in Flushing, New York.
