Three-Weeks Illness Proves Fatal to Ben Duncan
Ben C. Duncan, 89 years old, of Jasonville, died Friday night at the Freeman-Greene county hospital in Linton, where he had been a patient for three weeks. Mr. Duncan was born on March 25, 1873 in Clay county, the son of Giles and Mary Ann Duncan. Most of his life was spent in the Coal City community and he had been a resident of Jasonville for the past ten years. He was a member of the Jasonville Church of Christ. Surviving are the widow, Pearl, one stepson, Harley Shepherd of Indianapolis and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two previous wives, Ella (Fiscus) in 1900 and Pearl Mae (Inman) in 1951. Funeral Services were held at Jasonville Monday afternoon. Bro. Paul Griffith officiated and burial was made in the Duncan Cemetery.
