JOHN R. BOYER RETIRED ENGINEER, 67 John R. Boyer, 67, of East Norriton Township, a retired engineer, died Saturday at Montgomery Hospital in Norristown.
Mr. Boyer was born in Norristown, graduated in 1946 from the former Norristown High School, and earned a mechanical-engineering degree in 1950 from Lehigh University.
He had lived in East Norriton for more than 35 years and was an engineer for what is now Peco Energy Co. before retiring in 1989.
Mr. Boyer was active with the Rotary Club of Norristown and was president in 1985-86.
For 28 years, Mr. Boyer was the husband of Margaret Dunnum Boyer.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Anne Donovan Boyer; daughters Karen L. Alleman and Kathleen A.; sons John R. Jr. and Edward D.; a stepdaughter, Sharon Kirland; stepsons Jay and Sean McManus; a brother; a sister; and seven grandchildren.
Friends and relatives may call after 9 a.m. today at the Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, East Norriton. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery , West Norriton.
