Lorene Geneva Hatfield, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at the Fowler Residential Care Center, at the age of 93.
She was born September 13, 1920, in rural Fowler KS, to Noah and Agnes Irene (Boyd) Mahieu.
On September 18, 1938, she married Howard Hatfield in Fowler. They were married nearly 70 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, and one brother.
She is survived by her sons, Donald and companion Eula Odneal of Liberal KS, Norman and wife Jean of Fowler; two daughters, Carol Stanley and husband Dennis of Dodge City KS, Sherri Copple and husband Jerry of Berthoud CO; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014, at the United Methodist Church, Fowler, with the Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade KS. Interment will follow in the Fowler Cemetery, Fowler.
The family would welcome memorials to the Fowler United Methodist Church or the Fowler Residential Care Center in care of the funeral home.
