"Josiah Theodore Young died at 5:45 this morning at his Meadville home. He was 90 years old. Mr. Young had been in failing health the last six months and was bedfast the last week.

He was born at Grandview, Ia., Nov. 7, 1858. Mr. Young grew to manhood there, being educated in the rural schools of the community. He came to Fountain Grove in 1886 and began farming. He married Miss Nancy Weidenhammer there on Feb. 14, 1889. For 47 years, he operated a farm 1-1/2 miles east of Fountain Grove. Mr. Young retired six years ago and moved to Meadville.

Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Jesse Lawrence Young of Moberly, and Allen Edgar Young and William Harry Young, both of Meadville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. One child, four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Meadville Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. J. R. Shultz. Burial will be at Meadville." The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune, June 16, 1949
