Ezekiel was one of George Washington's Body Guards during the Revolutionary War. His grave stone states this service. He served in the Continental Army, 16 Regt. of Massachusetts under the company command of Capt. Thomas Hunt in the regiment command of Colonel Henry Jackson, serving three years. He was a residence of Pownalborough, but enlisted for the town of Braintree. He served in the battle of Monmouth and in the action on Rhode Island.
