Note: This site was originally identified as the grave of Captain William Bragg of the Confederate army, a brother of General Braxton Bragg , and a member of the well known Bragg family of North Carolina. Further research identified this as the grave of African American soldier Private William Bragg. Captain Bragg passed away in Chattanooga from wounds received in battle on 25 July, 1863, Private Bragg passed away on 30 May 1863.
