According to the book "Biographical Sketch of William Colfax, Captain of Washington's Body Guard" by William Nelson, page 147 George was born Feb 9, 1755.
His mother Lucy Avery died in New York (and most likely buried there), according to the Hale newspaper accounts, Oct 4, 1804. Even though she passed away in New York, a memorial has been made for her in the Ancient Cemetery, New London #145998397, even tho there is no proof of her being in that cemetery.
