Gus Garlow Is Dead; Lifetime Resident of Cloud County was 70

Gus Garlow, lifetime resident of Cloud County and farmer for many years, died Wednesday afternoon, June 1, at St. Joseph's hospital. He had been in failing health for a long time. Mr. Garlow was 70.

Born Dec. 24, 1889, near Jamestown, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Garlow. He was married in Concordia Nov. 9, 1912, to Lucy Goodell. They moved from the farm in Sibley township to Concordia in 1953.

Surviving are his wife: these children: Clifford, and Opal, now Mrs. Vernon Barleen, both of Concordia; Verna, now Mrs. Harold Olson of Clyde; Fern, now Mrs. Kenneth Wilson of Shawnee, and Ila, now Mrs. Myron Curtis of Topeka; eight grandchildren and one great grand child; a brother, Frank of Concordia and two sisters; Mrs. Daisy Persing of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Jess Reeves of Concordia.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Chaput Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Richard Taylor. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Body of Gus Garlow will be at Chaput funeral home where respect calls may be made.
