Kate Smith, 100, Deepwater, Mo. died Monday, July 30, 2001, at her home. She was a homemaker. She is survived by two sons, Ray Smith and wife, Betty, from Caplinger Mills, Missouri, Donald Smith and Wife, Rosemary from Raytown, Missouri. Two daughters, Helen Sapp and husband, Howard from Deepwater, Missouri and Doris Buce and husband, Clarence from Deepwater, Mo. 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday August 3, 2001 at 3pm at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Flora Hills Chapel, Kansas City. Visitation will be one hour before the service, 2-3p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City. The Daily Democrat August 1, 2001 Clinton, Missouri

Clint and Kate married March 27, 1920 Wilson County Kansas. They separated but never divorced. Kate was a dedicated Christian and took her vowels and her faith seriously.
Kate's nicknamed was Kitty and was also called Kit
