Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, a son of the late Herbert W. and Elsie M. (Sisk) Goding, he lived in Warwick for the past twenty-seven years, previously living in Florida, Cranston, and Scituate.
Mr. Goding was a product designer, and worked in preliminary sales & engineering, for Builders Iron Foundry for nearly thirty-five years, and later worked for Westfall Manufacturing Co. of Bristol for several years. He wrote specifications and produced designs for Vacuum Diatomaceous Earth Filters for use in many potable water filtration plants and swimming pool filtration systems used throughout the United States. He was also instrumental in developing design standards for electrical control enclosures.
Mr. Goding attended the Rhode Island School of Design, and was a member of the Instrument Society of America. He was an avid railroad enthusiast, collecting model railroad equipment as a hobby, and visiting as many old scenic railroads as possible.
He served his country proudly as part of the WW II occupation of Germany.
Besides his wife Rita, he leaves a son, John C. Goding and his wife Chiaporn R. Goding, his beloved granddaughter, Julia R. Goding; two brothers, Calvin Goding and Leonard Goding; and many nieces and nephews.
