Sad Drowning Case
On Thursday afternoon, about four o'clock, a sad drowning case took place on the line of the North Pennsylvania Railroad. Four persons, residents of the neighborhood, went upon a fishing excursion on the Pennypack Creek, and while engaged in drawing a net, Mr. Thomas Yerkes, who was standing in the water, assisting in the operation of drawing in the seine, fell into the creek and was drowned. His body was subsequently recovered. It is supposed that he was taken with the cramp. The deceased was a carpenter and builder, thirty-five years of age, and leaves a wife and three children.
