Cloay was the daughter of James A. Deputy & Martha A. Wolf.

July 2, 1965 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services for Mrs. J.W. Gruber, 82, of Lake City were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Methodist Church in Lake City. Rev. Carl Jensen officiated. Mrs. John Mapel played "Abide with Me", "Lead Kindly Light" and "The Lord's Prayer". Pallbearers were Alfred Mullins, Earl Heath, Carl Mathews, Donald O'Connor, Harold DeSart, and Lyall Albright. Burial, in change of the Huffman Memorial Chapel, was in Oakland cemetery at Sac City.

Mrs. Gruber died June 28, it Loring Hospital, Sac City. She had been ill six weeks. Survivors include three children: Mrs. Florence Maloy, Columbus, Ohio; Dr. Maurice Gruber, Sac City; Dr. Loren Gruber, Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
