Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Jim Shelburne, pastor of Washington Avenue Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born March 22, 1927, in Amarillo to Floyd Ray and Johnie Mae Johnson. He married Lily Johnson on Aug. 21, 1943, in Amarillo. Mr. Johnson was a service technician for Energas. He was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. Mr. Johnson also was a member of Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 731, Lubbock Scottish Rite and Khiva Temple of the Shrine.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the care given by the staff at Dumas Nursing Center and BSA Hospice.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lily; a daughter, Cora Evone Johnson; and a son, Steve Ray Johnson.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Barbara Johnson; a granddaughter, Gina Downs and husband Marc; two great-granddaughters, Chelsea and Kayla of Midwest City, Okla.; a nephew, Bob Phillips and wife Linda of Dumas; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to Recreation Fund, Dumas Nursing Home, 315 E. 19th St., Dumas, TX 79029.
