Mrs. Edna Brady Cornwell, one of Hampshire County's most beloved citizens, died at her home in Romney on Monday afternoon, at the age of ninety. She had been in poor health for a number of years.

Mrs. Cornwell was born May 26, 1868, at the Brady farm on the South Branch below Romney. As the daughter of the late Isaac T. and Sallie Parsons Brady, she was a direct descendant of many of the pioneer settlers of the South Branch Valley.

Mrs. Cornwell was known for her kindness and generosity throughout the county. Her interest in community activities was wide. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and a charter member of the local chapters of both the Daughters of the American Revolution and Stonewall Jackson Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Mrs. Cornwell was the widow of John J. Cornwell, former General Counsel of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, who published the Hampshire Review for more than 60 years until his death in 1953. Mrs. Cornwell has been the owner of the Review since that time.

She is survived by her sister, Miss Susan Brady; one daughter, Mrs. Sallie C. Ailes, both of Romney; five grandchildren, Mrs. Edna Jane Ailes Sprague, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Stephen Ailes of Washington; John Cornwell Ailes and Eugene E. Ailes, both of Romney, and Mrs. Anne Ailes Ryler, of Martinsburg, and 13 great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Romney this afternoon at two o'clock to be conducted by the Rt. Rev. Robert E. L. Strider and the REv. Arch M. Hewitt, rector. Pallbearers will be Stephen Ailes, John C. Ailes, Eugene E. Ailes, Ira E. Eyler, Richard S. Kuykendall and E. W. Miller, Jr. Interment will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.
