Harriett Dermid Carr, 93, widow of Ernest D. Carr, formerly of Thurston Street, Greenville, went home to be with Jesus on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25, 2006, at National Health Care, Greer.

Born in Asheville, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Jefferson Davis and Anna Netherton Dermid.

Mrs. Carr was a beautician while living in Asheville, N.C., and was retired from Ivey's Department Store, and was a member of Augusta Road Baptist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Anne D. Bakke of Hendersonville, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Frances Suddeth of Greenville; a niece, Sara Lehrer of Spartanburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Buckner and Frances Smith; and two brothers, Charles D. Dermid and J.D. Dermid Jr.

Funeral sevices will be conducted Friday, December 29, 2006, at 1:30 p.m., in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown, with visitation prior to the service, beginning at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
