Harold L Young 91 of Forsyth, formerly of Miles City died Monday March 6, 2000 at the Friendship Villa Care Center in Miles City due to Congestive Heart Failure.
Harold was born July 21, 1908 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Ephraim and Mary (Ryan) Young. He attended grade school in New York, then at age 11 moved to Ismay, MT with his parents. Later he moved to Miles City and began a radio repair business. Then he was inducted into the Army and served in WWII from 1943 to 1945. Following his service he returned to Miles City.
He married Marguerite Huyghe of Belgium on August 4th 1947. To this union was born his son Robert of New York and a daughter Caprice of Forsyth.
Harold loved music and taught himself to play Piano, harmonica, accordion, guitar and the Fiddle which was his favorite.
He was a member of the Southeastern MT Fiddles, and really enjoyed playing with the group every Tuesday.
He collected many Aluminum cans that helped put his Grandson through college. He was a member of the RSVP, delivering meals on wheels, helping with the school lunch program. Harold and Margie enjoyed traveling around the US in their camper and visiting relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife Margie who resides in Friendship Villa. His son Robert, (Song), Daughter Caprice, (Butch) Grandson Guy Robert Gregory, (Air force) Spandahlam, Germany. Three nephews, Allan , Barry, and Jerry Boschen.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace and Florence and a brother Herbert.
Family will receive friends at Stevenson and Sons
Funeral home March 10th. Private Burial service will be in the Family lot in Forsyth Cemetery on March 17th, 2000.
